Ascott IFC Guangzhou

Whenever I travel, the first website I check for accommodation is Ascott. It’s a chain of serviced apartments with several brands. Those I look for are Ascott and Citadines, both of which I trust and stayed at in many cities.

I prioritise them for a few reasons: 1. they can be found in most Asian cities; 2. they have serviced apartments with two-bedroom options and 3. they are consistent in their service. The Ascott range in particular usually includes facilities like proper restaurants, swimming pool, fitness centres, spa and more.

In Guangzhou, I stayed at Ascott IFC. It is in the building adjoining the tall IFC building. It was somewhat hard to find as we had to walk there from the nearest metro station. Although the metro was convenient as we could take it from the airport with only one station change in between. The map hopefully can help. The metro station to alight at is Zhujiang Newtown exit A2.

The apartment itself was great. Two large bedrooms with king size beds; a spacious living room; a fully equipped kitchen (with washing machine and dryer) and a bathtub in the master bedroom (those with young kids will understand the plus point). As other Ascotts I stayed at, breakfast was provided. They also had a decent sized swimming pool, a nice cosy library, and a gym.
